Our Identity

Hotel Miramar, in São Pedro de Moel, Marinha Grande, is a family project, built for those who
value calm, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Our team is always on hand, yet always respectful
of your space and your time.

We welcome guests looking for both a beach holiday and a nature escape, making the most of
what makes this stretch of coastline, in Portugal’s silver coast, truly unique. We have 47 rooms
spread across three floors.

experiences, always guided by one goal: to make you feel at home.

Our roots

More than 50 years on, we continue to evolve, always improving the way we welcome you, without ever losing sight of our roots.

Late 1950s

Armando Ribeiro Claro recognised the need for accommodation in São Pedro de Moel. He converted a two-storey house and started with nine rooms, which quickly grew to eleven.

1960: The founding

Miramar was born, with every room featuring an en-suite bathroom, plus a kitchen and restaurant from the very start.

1972: Growth

Joaquim João Santos took over the management, marking the beginning of a new phase of growth and modernisation.

1980–1989: Expansion

In 1980, Joaquim João Santos became the owner. The eighties were a decade of expansion and a constant drive to keep pace with market trends. By 1989, Miramar had grown to 37 rooms.

2011: Renovation

A major renovation took place. Ten new sea view rooms were added, and the dining room was extended, gaining a panoramic view.

2018: Modernisation

Now operating as Hotel Miramar, the building was fully refurbished. The goal remained the same: to uphold the quality and care that have always defined our story.

The present

Hotel Miramar remains in the hands of the same family, preserving the spirit of warmth and authenticity that has always set us apart.
